The deceased was identified as Mansi (20), who hailed from Assam.

TRAGIC END: Mansi allegedly committed suicide by throwing herself off from the window of the fire exit on the 17th floor of Cosmic Heights

Another house help working in the same building said, “She was a pleasant person to talk to. She liked the kids a lot and would take them to the park in the evening.

Recently she had mentioned about her family problems. It is possible that this could have forced her to take the drastic step.” Officials of the Wadala Truck Terminus police station said every window in the flat where Mansi worked was fitted with safety grills, so there was no question of her jumping from the flat. The manager of the building premises claimed that windows along the fire escape could be opened and Mansi must have used the one the 17th floor to jump to her death.

Her body was sent to the Sion Hospital for post-mortem. Forensic department head Dr Rajesh Dere, who conducted the autopsy, stated hemorrhagic shock, thoraco-abdominal trauma and multiple injuries as the cause of Mansi’s death. u00a0
