A massive fire broke out in Mankhurd's Mandala area around 2 pm on Tuesday gutting hundreds of shanties. No casualty has been reported so far.

The fire broke out in Indira Nagar and spread to the shanties nearby.

A level III fire, it is feared that hundreds of houses have been burnt. Eight fire engines, eight jumbo tankers, eight water tankers and six officials are on site.

Fire officials try to douse the fire.

The fire has been brought under control now, informed chief fire officer P S Rahangdale.
