Body of the 26-year-old deceased, a West Delhi property dealer identified as Rakesh Kumar, was found in Sector-132 of Noida on July 11.

Police said Kumar was infatuated with his cousin and used to stalk her. She got married around two months back, but he kept harassing her.

“Kumar continued to send the woman lewd text messages on her phone even after her marriage. The woman got tired of Kumar’s advances and told her husband Deepak and her brother Ramanand about it,” the police said. Kumar was Ramanand’s cousin.

The angry duo then confronted Kumar and asked him to mend his ways. However, it is when Kumar continued to send her lewd messages and stalk her, that they hatched a plan to kill him.

The police said that on July 11 Deepak and Ramanand called up Kumar and asked him to accompany them to Rohini. He agreed and went with them.

“The duo picked up Kumar in a car and drove to Noida Sector-132. There they got him heavily drunk. They then drugged him after which he fell unconscious. The duo then repeatedly stabbed Kumar, about 17 times, till he was dead and dumped his body in a drain nearby,” the police said.

The body was discovered next day by Noida police. The deceased's family had lodged a complaint on July 12 at the Vikaspuri police station in West Delhi.

When police began questioning the people who were last seen with Kumar, they got to know about Ramanand's movements.

The accused could not give a proper alibi and broke down during questioning, the police said.
