The much-awaited Metro line in Noida is likely to openu00a0 on August 15.

A senior Metro official, wishing anonymity, said, "Work on the Metro stations in Noida will be over by August 10. And trial runs will start by the later half of July.

"We generally look for important dates to launch the service. If everything goes well, the trains will definitely chug into the satellite town on August 15."

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director E Sreedharan also told MiD DAY that the section will be opened in August.

However, he did not specify any date. "Three trains are to be commissioned. Two will be put on the Dwarka- Yamuna Bank route, as it is very crowded.

Another one will ply on the Central Secretariat-Jahangirpuri Line. After that, with the arrival of new trains, the Noida section will be opened," said Sreedharan.

The section was earlier slated for opening in June. However, because of shortage of rolling stock, the deadline was rescheduled.

Work on the Metro stations in Noida will be over by August 10. And trial runs will start by the later half of July
