Cartoon characters always make for great inspiration for design. If one loves a dash of quirk, a comic character or a cartoon print will add fun to your wardrobe or decor.
Apart from superhero tees, one of my all-time favourite remains the collection that resulted from designer Manish Arora’s collaboration with Walt Disney in 2008.
The collection saw models wearing face armour, shoulder pads, and crystal and metallic outfits; all of which contradicted the kiddy Goofy, Mickey and Minnie Mouse prints. It was fun and couture. While Arora’s collection did not really please our pockets, I loved this line of scarves by Shingora.
They have options for children and adults. The ones for kids are the usual Disney-inspired merchandise with bright colours and prints. However, the options for adults display a subtle colour palette; in fact, some of the prints resemble vintage art prints as well.
he collection includes a range of prints inspired by Disney princesses, popular Disney movies and Minnie Mouse-styled polka dots in neon colours.
