Train services on Central Railway's main and harbour line were affected due to a power cut near Kalyan and a train unit failure near Sewri in the morning rush hour on Wednesday.

Central Railway officials said both the problems had been fixed, but due to the effect of disruption and bunching of trains, services will remain delayed for some time.

Today, July 10, 2019 at around 9:04 hrs, due to a system disturbance at Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Supply Company Limited (MSETCL)'s Kalwa RS, Tata Power's Kalyan Receiving Station (RS), Ambernath RS, Bhivpuri Generating station, Ordinance Factory and MSETCL's Neral Substation, Central Railway's Chola Substation lost complete supply affecting Central Railway's operations from Kasara to Kalyan and Karjat to Kalyan.

The reason for disturbance is being investigated by MSETCL. Meanwhile, Tata Power restored supply from 110 kV Kalyan RS and restored supply to Central Railway system through 110 kV Kalyan Chola lines at 9:30 hrs.”

On the harbour line, the PL-32 Panvel-CSMT train was held up between Sewri and Cotton Green due to a technical problem.

As crowds increased and complaints start pouring in, the railways started two special local trains between Kurla and Mumbai CSMT.
