Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrakant Mahajan posted at Chunnabhatti police station, who tried committing suicide in the same premises on Wednesday, has been booked under Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code
Mahajan attempted to end his life with his service revolver after he allegedly had a fight with his wife, who had left for Nasik with their children the previous day.
He had apparently told his colleague that he was very upset.

To add to it, Zone 6 Deputy Commissioner of Police Lakshmi Gautam had accused of him being corrupt and not concentrating on his work.
Later, when Mahajan was alone in a room on the first floor of the police station, he asked two constables to leave and shot himself with the service revolver. u00a0
