Mumbai Crime: Denied salary, help kidnaps employer's 2-yr-old daughter

Angry at his boss for not giving him his salary for the past four months, an employee came up with a unique way to teach him a lesson he kidnapped his boss’ two-year-old daughter and demanded Rs 50,000 as ransom.


The police, however, nabbed the accused within two hours of the kidnapping. Sarfaraz Alam (23), a resident of Manikpur in Vasai (West), had been working as an AC mechanic at a shop owned by one Sherzada Khan for the past two years. He also worked as a domestic help at Khan’s house.

Abduction
Angry at Khan for not having paid him for four months, Alam hatched a plan to kidnap his daughter. He took the little girl out for a walk on Monday and switched off his cellphone. When Alam did not return till 8:00 pm, Khan got suspicious and lodged a missing complaint for his daughter with the Manikpur police station.

Meanwhile, Alam called Khan from a PCO and demanded a ransom of Rs 50,000. He warned Khan against informing the cops and asked him to send his brother-in-law to Mumbra station with the money immediately. Khan alerted the cops and a trap was set to nab Alam at Mumbra station. He has been remanded in police custody till October 4.
