According to the police officials the incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the lady was alone at her Malad flat.

The accused came into the house on the pretext of doing daily chores and locked the door from inside. He attacked the woman who was sleeping on the sofa in the hall. He then forcefully took her into the bedroom and molested her. He also threatened to kill her if she reported the incident. The same evening, when the woman’s son arrived, she narrated the event to him, after which they went to the Bangur Nagar police station and registered a case. The police sprung into action but by then the accused was on the run.

Later the police tracked him down through their network and took him into custody on Saturday. An official from Bangur nagar police station said: “We have arrested the accused  today from Malad under sections 354 and 354a of the Indian Penal Code. We will soon produce him in court.”
