A 27-years-old man in Kandivli allegedly killed a 58-year-old man with a stone in a fit of rage after he was slapped by the latter during a society meeting. Police said that the accused and deceased live in the same apartment named Shivshankar SRA building in Dhanukarwadi, Kandivli West.
According to police, the accused identified as Umesh Naik, 27, felt insulted during a society meeting on Thursday, when he was slapped by Deepak Ghag and asked to leave the meeting. Naik, who was in an inebriated state, was repeatedly interfering during a conversation at the meeting, which enraged Ghag and slapped Naik.

Enraged Naik later attacked Ghag, by hitting him with a stone on his head. Ghag, who was seriously injured fell on the ground while Naik fled the spot. Neighbours who saw him lying on the ground in a pool of blood immediately rushed him to Shatabdi Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Naik was later caught by the society members and handed over to the police, where the investigation began. Police learned that Naik, is a salesman and Ghag was a retired employee. Both attended the society meeting over an incident where the building's security guard was slapped. The meeting was conducted to find out the aggressor and a police complaint can be registered against him. The meeting was attended by only a few members of the building.
The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under section 302 of IPC. Naik will be produced in the court by the Kandiwali Police on Friday.
