An exhibition will display the works of an intuitive photographer, who believes in spur-of-the-moment clicks
Photographs that will be displayed at the exhibition
Photographers can either view the world through a prism of vibrant colours, or they can filter it through monochromes of black and white. Rajan Patel belongs to the latter category. A software entrepreneur by day, he picked up the camera as a hobby about a decade ago and became more serious about the art over the years, eventually holding his first exhibition in 2017. Now, Patel is returning with a second one, titled The Travelogue of My World, which will be on display till mid-February.

"I think in black and white, and that's why my photographs don't have any colours in them. I also define my photography as intuitive. If something looks good, I shoot it. I don't think too much. Yes, you do have to do some amount of planning about what you want to shoot. But after that, I go with the spur of the moment and that's where the pictures stem from," he says.

Asked the reason behind the name of this exhibition, Patel shares, "My genre of photography would be fine art, landscape and travel. We are putting up close to 15 prints in the gallery, and if I have to sum up how I would define them, they encapsulate a whole set of memories from all over." He also says that the photographs originate from as diverse locations as Ranthambore, Switzerland and Thailand, adding that the black-and-white medium helps focus on the shades of grey that are an intrinsic part of our lives. So, if you want to take a trip around the world — but with all sense of colour stripped off — head down to the BKC hotel where the exhibition will be held.
