According to the police, the accused left the toddler near Kalpana theatre in Kurla around 2 pm yesterday, after which she was noticed by a garage owner nearby. An officer from VB Nagar police station said, “The kidnappers had left the victim near Kalpana theatre in Kurla, and a garage owner brought her to the police station, following which she was identified.”

The cops have not been able to get clues about the abductors from the three-year-old as she is too young to understand. “The victim won't understand where she was taken. She only told us that she was brought back in a rickshaw and left there,” said the officer.

Cops have come up with the sketches of the two accused, on the basis of the CCTV grabs obtained from the area, and they are still trying to trace them. The victim was immediately sent for a medical test, and primary reports said that she wasn’t sexually abused. VB Nagar police had registered the case on Saturday under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code.
