Mumbai Marathon runner survives cardiac arrest, now stable

Thirty seven- year-old runner Amit Kasat who suffered from a cardiac arrest while participating in the Standard Chartered Mumbai marathon was finally discharged from the ICCU of Bombay hospital yesterday

Mumbai Marathon winner Amit KasatThirty seven- year-old runner Amit Kasat who suffered from a cardiac arrest while participating in the Standard Chartered Mumbai marathon was finally discharged from the ICCU of Bombay hospital yesterday.

He has now been shifted to Andheri’s Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital for further treatment.

Dr Ram Narain, director of the hospital said, he is in the general ward and his condition is stable.

Kasat was on ventilator support for two weeks after participating in the marathon.

Photographer, Viraj Kowale (38), who also suffered an attack, continues to be critical.
