Mumbai Metro-3 to have 'vibration-absorbing tracks', first in India

It is considered ideal for a congested city like Mumbai where there are many heritage structures, old buildings, hospitals, schools, colleges, studios and densely populated residential colonies, etc. which can get affected by vibrations

In a first for India, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MMRCL) will lay vibration-absorbing tracks on the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Line 3, an official said here on Wednesday.
The MMRCL has started trial production of the High Vibration Attenuation Booted Twin Sleeper Blocks (HVABTSB) to lay tracks with the help of a machine from Sonneville AG, Switzerland.
