The victim was allegedly raped on Friday night by the men inside her house at Matunga. They allegedly entered her house, assaulted her husband, threw him out of the house and then raped her. The case was first registered at the Dadar Government Railway Police (GRP). The victim’s husband said, “On Friday evening, I met Sidhu and he asked me about my relationship with my wife. He suggested that I leave her and expressed a desire to have a physical relationship with her.”

The husband got angry at this and had a heated argument with Sidhu. A few hours later, Sidhu allegedly brought along a few goons with him and entered the house of the victim, assaulted her husband and then raped her. Once they had recovered from the shock, the couple wanted to go to the Shahu Nagar police station in order to register an FIR but because it was very late they decided to register the case in the morning with the Dadar GRP.

The main accused, Sidhu and Anup, had approached the victim for a sexual relationship two years ago. On Friday, the victim’s husband alleged he was beaten up even before he could get out of bed, with bamboo sticks. Senior PI Prakash Kirdat, Dadar GRP said, “The case was registered at 10.30 am. We have ascertained the facts and realised that the case comes under the city police. We sent the victim to the Nagpada Police hospital for a medical check-up. We are interrogating the case now but the case will be transferred to the Matunga Police station.”
