Music needs encouragement: Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia

According to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, music needs the right kind of support from all quarters,including the media

He tells CS, “In many nations, traditional arts have died out as the young generation is simply not interested in them.

However, that’s not the case in India. Look at cricket, the manner in which the sport was promoted in India was phenomenal. The media played a huge role in this. 

It would be nice if some press was devoted to Indian classical music as well. It would motivate more young people to come forward and pursue music. Practising music is like praying. It would help in emotional and spiritual development.”
