In a welcome decision, the Bombay High Court has allowed the implementation of the multi-year tariff system whereby consumers can roughly predict the amount of impending hikes over the next five years. The order will be implemented across the state from April next year.u00a0

The plan, therefore, is likely to help consumers in gauging future tariff hikes on the basis of the plan made by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC).u00a0
