Two men have been booked for the murder of 45-year-old businessman Ejaz Ahmed Khan at Oshiwara on Saturday. The two accused were locked in a bitter three-year-long feud with the victim over a redevelopment project in Millat Nagar.
The accused have been identified as Atahar Pappa Khan and Abrar Khan, and cops have launched a manhunt to nab them, after witnesses testified to having spotted them shooting Ejaz at point-blank range.

The police had recovered CCTV footage from the spot where Ejaz was shot on Saturday, when he was on his way to Green Garden in Millat Nagar, Oshiwara. He was seen walking as he spoke on the phone. But the CCTV did not capture images of the assailants or the attack.
However, witnesses saw the assailants approach on a bike and a Scorpio. Two of the accused then dismounted and accosted Ejaz. He was then shot at point blank range. Khan took a bullet to the chest, which did not exit.
Initially bystanders mistook the gunshot for the sound of a car tyre getting punctured. When they saw Ejaz collapse, they rushed him to Kokilaben Ambani hospital, where he was declared dead before admission.
The police are interrogating family members of the two accused, but revealed that their phones have been switched off.
“People nearby assumed that the sound of the gunshot was that of from a tyre bursting at the puncture repair shop nearby. They rushed Khan to the hospital under the impression that he had suffered a heart attack. There was no blood from his wound as the bullet was stuck in his chest,” said an officer from Oshiwara police station.
The officer further added that the victim had never filed any complaints of threat from anyone. However, they are verifying the existence of a criminal record against the victim.
Ejaz’s father was president of the Millat Nagar Housing Society. After his father’s death, the new committee had roped in a new builder for the redevelopment project, which Ejaz was dead against. Khan had raised objections, and a bitter dispute dragged on for years.u00a0
