Pankaj Kapur's leap of faith
The 58-year-old actor pulls off parachute stunt 100 feet above icy cold waters for 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'
You could easily imagine a John Abraham or even a Salman Khan perform daredevil stunts on their own. On the sets of his next, Pankaj Kapur, 58, apparently shocked his entire unit by performing a stunt all by himself, hanging on to a parachute at 100 feet above a lake in Haryana.
And all this for a 10-second sequence in the film. A source says, “Kapur put on a brave face and decided to do the scene all by himself. Everyone on the sets was in awe of him.”
The senior actor says, “Truly speaking, I was scared. I had never done anything like this before. I was required to jump out of the parachute and into the lake. But once I was up in the air, I started enjoying it.” Apparently Kapur got so engrossed in watching all the action below that he forgot all about his fears.
We also hear that it was pitch dark outside when the crew started gearing up for the shot. Kapur adds, “I couldn’t take my mind off imagining the creatures who live under the waters. All went well and the shot was cleared in two takes.
