Pawar was invited too, but kept away: Hazare

Team Anna had invited Sharad Pawar too for the debate at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, but his Nationalist Congress Party preferred to keep away, Anna Hazare said here Monday.

Anna Hazare reached Ghaziabad to conduct a counselling session with those aspiring to join Tam Anna. The counselling programme will continue Tuesday too, added Hazare.

Hazare compared corruption to pollution "which is ruining the Indian economy", while talking to media persons in Mewar Institute in Ghaziabad.

He said that his Kaushambi office received about 400 applications from young boys to join the Anna team. Most of them are unmarried and want to devote their lives for the country, he said.

After conducting a first round counselling, the young boys would be sent to Ralegan Siddhi, Hazare's village in Maharashtra, where extensive training would be given to them.

Team Anna would "utilize their energy in a positive manner which would a creative energy in the real sense", added Anna.
