The sequel to last year's smash hit Race is highly awaited. It has been reported that lead actor Saif Ali Khan is co-producing the film with the original producers, Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films.

Kareena Kapoor has been roped in, and Bipasha Basu has been kept out of the film.

Saif has launched his home banner Illuminati Films and his first film under the banner Love Aaj Kal is already complete and ready for release.

Banner growth

There has been strong buzz that Saif now wants to co-produce films that he acts in, so his banner can grow. And that making the sequel to Race as a joint production between him and TIPS is a step in that direction.

Ramesh Taurani denies any such developments, "It is true that Saif is doing my next Race 2 but he is only there in the capacity of an actor and as nothing else. These are baseless rumours. I don't who started them in the first place."

Taurani adds, "As of now Saif, Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor have signed on the dotted line and we are still looking out for one more big star and two other actresses to finish the line-up for the project." Currently, scripting is underway and the film will go on the floors by the year-end."
