Ravindra Chavan replaces Prakash Mehta as Raigad guardian minister

Maharashtra Minister of State for Medical Education Ravindra Chavan has replaced Housing Minister Prakash Mehta as the Gaurdian Minister of Raigad district. A Government Resolution to this effect was issued today

Maharashtra Minister of State for Medical Education Ravindra Chavan has replaced Housing Minister Prakash Mehta as the Gaurdian Minister of Raigad district. A Government Resolution to this effect was issued today.


Chavan is a two-time BJP legislator from Dombivali in Thane district and was inducted into the Devendra Fadnavis ministry in July 2016. He is the minister of state for Medical Education, Ports, Information Technology, Food and Civil supplies and Consumer protection. Last year, the Opposition had targetted Mehta over iregularities in Tardeo and Ghatkopar SRA projects.


In the Tardeo case, Mehta had in the file noted that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had been appraised before taking the decision.
