Tuesday’s record of 11,793 persons screened for H1N1 virus in a single day was surpassed yesterday, with 25,080 people undergoing the process at various centres across the district. Fourteen persons tested positive for the swine flu virus during the screening, raising the total number of H1N1 cases to 219.
Dr Vijay Powar, resident medical officer at District Civil Hospital, said two patients were still on ventilator support, one each at Deenanath Mageshkar Hospital and Aditya Birla Hospital, while 14 patients continued to be in ICU. Seven patients have been discharged from hospital and 84 others are currently in isolation wards at different medical centres.
