Revenue, BEST enter Challenger Trophy quarters
BEST and Revenue stormed into the Challenger Trophy quarter-finals following fluent wins in the 3rd Affinity Corporate Badminton Challenge at the NSCI courts in Worli yesterday.
Best Arts and Sports Club prevailed over Credit IB India, while Revenue halted JNPT with identical 2-0 margins in the second round. Joining them in the last eight were second seeds MJ Foundation who beat Hindustan Petroleum ‘B’ 2-0.
In the closest match of the day, PB Mukherjee and Vijay Mhatre of JNPT beat Denzil Fernandes and Fabian Dennis of N Jamnadas & Co 30-29 in a thrilling combined men’s doubles 90+ first round. In the combined mixed doubles 60+, top seeds Farah Moloobhai and Ayaz Billawala advanced to the quarter-finals.
