As 23-year-old Raghuveer has been picked by the police and interrogated several times on basis of suspicion, in the same way, there are many others who are suspects in the case and are yet to be highlighted by the media, said the family members. Jayprakash Singh, Sandhya’s husband and customs and central excise commissioner in Indore, said, “Raghuveer will not kill his mother even if he was drunk.”

On December 13, Sandhya went missing while she had gone to the bank to deposit jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh. According to Jayprakash, a close neighbour dropped Sandhya near the bank. However, she did not enter the bank. The same day, Sandhya was seen in Vahal near Uran. According to the family, the cops are yet to trace the auto driver that took her to Vahal. On November 25, a maid had stolen some gold from the house following which Sandhya had called the NRI police. However, she did not file any complaint as the maid, fearing the police, handed over all the valuables.

Since then, Sandhya was in regular touch with the assistant inspector of NRI police station. According to Jayprakash, Sandhya had a long conversation with the police officer the day before she went missing. Jayprakash said they were not pointing fingers but they suspect others are involved in the case more than Raghuveer who has been made a suspect by the police and the media.
