Sania Mirza and her partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands defeated Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik in the title clash of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Saturday.
The unseeded Indo-American duo overcame their opponents 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 in a tight contest that lasted for an hour and 32 minutes.
The title, Mirza’s 17th (16 doubles championships and one singles title), comes close on the heels of the Brisbane International title the Indian ace and Mattek-Sands had won just last month.u00a0
