"By the end of your meal, you will turn into a sushi lover," challenged Sandeep Bansal the owner of Sushi King the first ever all-inclusive Japanese joint in Gurgaon. With almost four years of experience of running a BPO, this 36-year-old entrepreneur ventured into bristo business along with wife Deepa. "We wanted to provide a novel food experience to the pros of the satellite town," said Sandeep. And going by our dining experience, we must say, the owner's claims weren't pompous. Here's our take on this Oriental odyssey.u00a0

Food

As the name suggests, Sushi truly acquires a major chunk of the menu. Broths kicked off our meal as we opted for Asian Dumplings soup (Rs 178) and Oriental Spicy and Sour soup (Rs 138). For starters, Saki Sushi roll (Rs 298) and Chicken and Pepper roll (Rs 248) were served. True to their description, the preparations were both authentic and succulent. Lovers of the cuisine have no dearth of options here. Veg California roll (Rs 198), Salmon Sushi roll (Rs 268) along with Sushi platters are some of the most sought after choices. Salad enthusiasts have choices in Oriental Green Bean Salad (Rs 98) and Non Veg Seafood salad (Rs 258).

We zeroed in on Sago in syrup (Rs 178) the Japanese version of our very own Saboo dane ki kheer!

Drinks

A huge round of disappointment on this quarter too. The eatery is still awaiting its liquor license and till then it's only aerated drinks that you will get to savour.

Ambience

Surprisingly, this 40-seater space is absolutely non-Japanese in its du00c3u00a9cor. A simplistic brown wooden setup illuminated as a fusion of Indian and Western scores played in the background. We loved our evening here and guess so will you.
