Jobs, who died in October this year at the age of 56, will be honoured alongside recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder and musician Dave Bartholomew at the annual ceremony on February 12.

"A creative visionary, Jobs' innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased," said the Recording Academy on the Grammys' website.

In 2002 Apple Computer Inc. was a recipient of a Technical GRAMMY Award for contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.
