Complainant alleges suspended API Tushar Kadam took his two cars on rent but never paid a dime; the cop also allegedly took the original documents of the vehicles
Suspended Assistant Police Inspector Tushar Kadam’s troubles seem far from over as yet another case of cheating has been filed against him at the Vakola police station. Kadam is alleged to have taken two cars along with original documents from a person in Kalina on the pretext that he was running a car rental business, but refused to return the vehicles and instead issued threats.

Kadam on the other hand claims to be innocent and alleges that ACP Anil Kharade of the Vakola division has foisted this case against him. This is the sixth case of cheating and forgery lodged against Kadam in the Vakola police station, which includes one under the Arms Act. In a statement to the police, complainant Sachin More (35), who runs a computer classes, said he met a person named Kamble in 2009 and was asked to rent out his Ford Fiesta and Skoda Rider cars on the promise of good returns.
More found the deal of Rs 60,000 per month enticing and gave his two cars to Kamble on rent. For six months, Kamble did not pay More anything and introduced the latter to Kadam. The officer he claims assured him Rs 80,000 rent per month for both his cars. A few days later, Kadam asked More for the original documents of both cars, stating that the vehicles would be going to a different state and the papers would be needed at the checkpoints on the way. Having collected the documents, Kadam did not pay More any money for a year and ignored him.
When More finally met Kadam and asked for his money and cars, he allegedly said, “I am a police officer and you cannot do anything to me.” More finally filed a complaint at the Vakola police station. Confirming the incident, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Pardesi said, “Kadam has been booked under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and is absconding.”u00a0
Reacting to the charges, Kadam said, “This is again ACP Kharade’s doing. He is involved with the land mafia in Kalina, which I was opposing. Therefore he is making such cases against me which are baseless, and because he is currently in uniform. He is targeting me and making my family’s life hell. In this case too, I am nowhere involved. In fact, Kamble should also be booked, but they have only booked me, which proves I am innocent.”u00a0
