Tehelka sex assault case: No relief for Tarun Tejpal, bail plea decision on Nov 29

The Delhi High Court Wednesday rejected Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal's plea for interim protection against arrest till pronouncement of order on Nov 29.

Delhi High Court reserves order for November 29 on Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal's anticipatory bail plea in the sexual assault case.


Tejpal, who is accused of sexually assaulting his junior colleague in a Goa hotel,u00a0has also been summoned by the Goa police to appear before itby 3 pm on Thursday.


Earlier today, the young journalist who has accused Tarun Tejpal of sexually assaulting her appeared before a judicial magistrate in Goa to depose.

Police sources said the woman was secretly flown to Goa and taken to a trial court complex in Panaji, where her statement was recorded before a judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) in 'B' Court under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

On Monday, the court declined to give any relief to Tejpal, who is facing charges of sexually assaulting a journalist colleague, and asked the police to file a response to his bail plea by Wednesday.

Goa Police opposed the bail application, saying the matter was serious in nature. The police also said they have not received a copy of the bail application.

A Tehelka journalist has accused Tejpal of sexually assaulting her twice at a five-star resort in Panaji earlier this month.
