Tennis legend Rod Laver took social media by storm yesterday as he went about recording Roger Federer's on-court interview (right) following his sixth Australia Open win at Melbourne Park. Laver, 79, sitting in the stadium named after him, pulled out his mobile and began recording as Federer broke down on court during the interview.

Federer was grateful to Laver, nicknamed Rocket, when interviewer Jim Courier informed him about the recording: "He is the best, Rocket. I am so happy when I see him any time... to see Rocket in the front row taking a picture." However, Federer says he didn't see the legend do the recording because his eyes were too full with tears. "I couldn't see it! I couldn't see through the thick tears in my eyes" said Federer!
