Traffic police plan smooth routes to IPL

The city police have made elaborate traffic arrangement for the upcoming IPL 20-20 cricket match scheduled at Chinnaswamy Stadium from tomorrow. They have earmarked St Joseph Indian high school grounds and Kanteerava Indoor stadium for parking.

KSCA members and spectators have to park their vehicles in the St Joseph Indian High School ground and Kanteerava Stadium. There are maxi cab facilities from Kanteerava studio to Chinnaswamy stadium.

Because of the Metro work at the BRV Parade Ground and MG Road CTO circle, there is limited parking space and the spectators are requested to use BMTC buses, including Big-10 buses to commute to and from the stadium.

Parking has been banned from 2 pm to 11.30 pm on: Queen's Road between CTO Circle and Queen's Statue Circle (both sides); on Mahatma Gandhi Road between Anil Kumble Circle and Queen's Circle (both sides); on Link Road between Mahatma Gandhi Road and Cubbon Road; Rajbhavan Road, T Chowdaiah Road and Race Course Road, near Chinnaswamy Stadium (both sides); on Central Street Road (both sides); on Cubbon Road between BRV Junction and Dickenson Road (both sides except for BMTC buses.

Madras Bank Road between SBI Circle and Ashirvadam Circle; on Museum Road between Mahatma Gandhi Road and Madras Bank Road till Residency Road; on Kasturi Road between Queen's Circle and Hudson Circle and on Grand Road between Siddalingaiah Circle and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Circle.

Parking is allowed on one side and prohibited on the other side of Cubbon Road between BRV Junction till the entrance of BRV Ground. Parking arrangements will stand from 2 pm to 11.30 pm.

No entry
Officers and staff who are on official work can park their vehicles in BRV Parade Ground, police said. Entry for vehicles is not allowed from Gate11 to 16 in Cubbon Road as a result of the ongoing work on the Metro.

Spectators can enter the stadium through gate 9 and those entering from gate 17 to 20 can make use of Link Road, traffic police said.

In the wake of the ongoing Metro work, gates 1 to 8 will be open to spectators. However, gates 16 and 17 have been opened from Anil Kumble junction for walking to the stadium.

Vehicles coming from CTO circle towards Queen's Circle should turn a right turn to proceed further. Spectators coming in vehicles for the IPL matches should park at the designated places before entering the stadium.

Public have been requested not to park vehicle near G gate of the stadium, failing which strict action will be taken against them.

"There are no parking facilities in and around the stadium and public are requested to co-operate," City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said.
