Rohan De is a single child born in a class-conscious family in Nainital. Growing up in a home where quarrels between his parents were common, he nurtured in the idealogies of his governess, meena.
The trauma of his childhood disturbs him, emotionally. Worse, ragging and physical abuse by seniors at school become common. Later he forges a bond with one of his seniors, Nikhil, and a friendship realises.
Despite opposition from his family, he moves to Delhi for higher studies at the University of Delhi. His classmates Paras and Monisha become his friends and he falls in love with Paras in the quest of exploring his real self. The book straddles between love, friendship, self belief and finding one’s true calling.
