RTI activists accuses leader of Opposition in civic council of issuing death threats to him for following a land grabbing issue in which the latter is allegedly involved
A city-based social worker and RTI activists has accused the leader of Opposition in the civic council of issuing him death threats for seeking information of a private property that latter is allegedly trying to usurp.
MiD DAY, in its May 4 edition, had reported that Uday Shankar had been allegedly threatening Chand Pasha, the owner of the property, to vacate the land, on which he supposedly wants to construct an anganwadi.
Ali approached Commissioner of Police Jyothi Prakash Mirji, who directed the local police station to
take necessary action in the case
Through the Right to Information, M Z Ali procured the documents, which revealed that the plot belongs to Pasha.

Ali said, "Instead of restoring the existing anganwadi in the area, Shankar wants to take over the land and has even procured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the slum board."
Claiming to have a similar NOC in his possession, Ali added that his sole intention was to help Pasha. "But this corporator has crossed all limits.
He walked up to me one day and asked me to back off. He threatened that if I don't budge, he will eliminate me."
Wasting no time, Ali approached Commissioner of Police Jyothi Prakash Mirji who directed the local police station to take necessary action.
Refuting the allegation, Shankar said, "My brother is Pasha's friend, and I treat him like my own brother.
Also, I don't have any feeling of resentment towards Ali. I consider him as friend and have no idea why he's speaking against me."
