Seeded No 4 in the under-12 category, Thaker, who won the doubles title on Thursday, rallied from the loss of the opening set to beat doubles partner and second seed Tanmay Thakkar 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in an exciting championship round encounter. Vatsin, who shocked boys' under-12 top seed Krishna Chavan in the semi-finals on Thursday, endured a strong challenge in the second set. But a crucial break changed his fortunes as he romped home a deserving winner.
