Violionist Swapan Sett is in Mumbai for his cancer-stricken wife's routine check up. The good news is that the doctors have told them that she is on the road to recovery
Musician Swapan Sett who has been travelling around the country playing violin to raise funds for his wife Poornima’s cancer treatment, is currently in Mumbai. The 69-year-old along with Poornima is here from Kolkata for a routine check-up. And from the looks of it, she is on her road to recovery.

The doctors treating Poornima have told Swapan that she is responding well to the treatment and the sonography and blood reports were also normal. The couple will be travelling back to Kolkata tomorrow.

On June 27, 2013, MiD DAY had reported the plight of Swapan who has been playing his music and selling his CDs and sketches in order to pay for his wife’s costly cancer treatment. Poornima said, “I am very thankful to Mumbaikars and the kindness the people from this city have shown in helping me. Soon after the article was published in MiD DAY, many people came forward to help me for my treatment in whatever way they could. Even now, there are many people who are coming forward to help me.”
The doctors have called Poornima again for a routine check-up after six months and have told her to strictly follow the medicine dosage that has been prescribed.u00a0
