Information regarding the event is available on its Facebook page

The famous India International Trade Fair (IITF) has gone the tech way this year. Any information regarding the trade fair is now available on Facebook, with a page dedicated to the event. The 31st IITF was inaugurated by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday at Pragati Maidan.

Rajeev Kher, chairperson and managing director, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), said, "This year, 16 countries are participating in the fair, including the Eurasia pavilion, organised under the initiative of Ministry of External Affairs, with six countries of the region. Keeping in mind the popularity of social networking websites, this year a Facebook page has been launched by the organisation."The page, being handled by the computer section of ITPO, will be updated about all upcoming events and cultural programmes at the trade fair.

"Looking at the increasing popularity of social networking websites, we thought there should be a page by ITPO too. Now, it is easier to communicate with the people," said an ITPO official on condition of anonymity.

The page will answer all queries by people who will 'like' the page. The trade fair will be open for business visitors from 9.30 am till 7.30 pm from November 14 to 18, and for general public from November 19 to 27.
The page will officially start working from November 15 with all the updates about the cultural programmes, change in timings, if any, or other kinds of information.

The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry & Textiles, Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Arjun Munda, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, and other participants, delegates and ministers from various states.
