Gujarati film industry dates back to 1932, since then thousands of Gujarati films were produced but the industry has hardly made an impact.

Time to bring family and film together with ‘Kehvatlal Parivar’

Our efforts fall short to embrace our own film industry. But, it’s time for us to realize and now make an impact. We need to promote the cultural heritage of Gujarat. We need to understand, that it is our films, made by Gujaratis, for Gujaratis.

The lead actor from the film, Siddharth Randeria asks an intriguing question, “If not us (Gujaratis), then who will watch and enhance our culture and industry?” With ‘Kehvatlal Parivar’, Coconut Motion Pictures is trying to bring the best of Gujarat in front of us, for our complete entertainment. Now, it’s our responsibility to visit the cinemas to experience their hard work.

In addition to that, through this film, the makers have tried to bring back the family altogether in cinemas. The producer Mr. Rashmin Majithia said, “Nowadays, the feeling of togetherness is lost on the screens of our phones. We have restricted ourselves from spending time with our family”. He continued, “With Kehvatlal Parivar, we have tried to present you with some delightful moments to experience with your loved ones. We aim to enhance the feeling of togetherness because only then, a film can truly be a family film”.

Many of us wait for the film to come on television which destroys the feeling of watching a film together with family. Television cannot give justice to a film. It is best enjoyed only in the theatres with no disturbance. If not television, we simply rely on piracy. Piracy is the danger that’s hanging over the film industry like a loose thread. Gujarati industry won’t be able to survive without theatres but still, we encourage piracy which is killing our roots. Knowing all this, it becomes our moral duty to empower the Gujarati film industry. It’s time to think differently now.

Sanjay Goradia shared his thoughts, “It is mesmerizing to see how South Indian industry has flourished only based on the support of their people. They enjoy the content made specifically for them and flaunt it. Gradually, they have reached international markets. We can also take it as an inspiration and try to grow our culture and art and make it known all over the world.”

Coconut Motion Pictures have devoted themselves to rebuilding the importance of Gujarati films. But, they need our support. In the words of Mr. Rashmin Majithia “We just make the film but it’s the audience who runs the film”. It’s our responsibility to encourage the people working diligently for the Gujarati entertainment industry. Kehvatlal Parivar, directed by Vipul Mehta and songs composed by Sachin-Jigar, is a multi-starrer, family-comedy-drama film with Siddharth Randeria and Supriya Pathak in lead. It aims to develop a strong connection, by showcasing the importance of family in films during modern times. The audience has already started to show their love for the film in India. Today, it's releasing in the rest of the world, in countries like the UK, US, Canada, Australia, etc. and we hope the Indians staying abroad smell the soil of their country through this film.

As the audience, let’s play a central role in changing the narrative of the Gujarati Film industry. It’s time to step out with our families and visit the theatres to experience the authentic Gujarati culture, art, kehvats, and values with Kehvatlal Parivar.
