Back in 2008, when conversations around body positivity and functional fashion were still rare in India, Deepa Vari set out to solve a problem most women quietly endured.
She was not a fashion mogul, but a woman who remembered what it felt like to grow up with uncomfortable, impractical innerwear and believed girls deserved better.

That belief became Adira.

Adira’s first breakthrough came with India’s first Period Panties, launched in 2008 and patented in 2009. Designed to be worn with pads, these panties did not replace protection but rather enhanced it, offering leak-proof confidence and stain resistance at a time when menstruation was still a taboo subject. More than just an invention, it became a quiet act of empowerment.

In 2013, Adira became the first brand in India to launch Starter Bras and Camisoles, made for teenage girls taking their first steps into adolescence. Designed for modesty and comfort, these products became a trusted choice for thousands of parents and young girls, providing support without self-consciousness.
Over the years, Adira’s range has grown, but its philosophy remains unchanged. From plus-size innerwear that fits up to 10XL, something few brands in India offer, to maternity essentials and age-inclusive briefs, every piece is designed with one belief at heart: every woman is beautiful in every shape and size, and her innerwear should care about her, not confine her.

This isn’t just innerwear.
It’s innerwear that thinks.

Unlike brands that focus on lace, allure, or aspirational beauty, Adira has built its name quietly in wardrobes, hospital bags, school lockers, and suitcases across India.

Today, as the Indian women’s innerwear market races toward a projected ₹501 billion by 2030, Adira remains grounded in its purpose: to be more than a brand. To be the quiet companion in a girl’s school locker, a mom’s hospital bag, or a woman’s suitcase, wherever life takes her.

Its success is not fueled by flashy ads or celebrity endorsements, but by the trust of women who return time and again. In a world full of over-styled promises, Adira’s honesty and empathy are its greatest style statements.

About Adira

Founded in 2008, Adira is a women-first innerwear brand built on empathy, innovation, and trust. From inventing India’s first Period Panties in 2008 (patented in 2009) to introducing Starter Bras & Camisoles in 2013, and Incontinence Panties in 2016, Adira has consistently pioneered solutions that support women at every stage of life. And the journey doesn’t stop there. Guided by one mission to listen, to solve, and to stand by women, Adira continues to innovate with purpose.
