Kamala Rising Stars Awards

Marking the 75th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a grand felicitation ceremony-the “Kamala Rising Stars 2.0 Awards”-was held today at the Prime Minister’s Museum, New Delhi. Organised by the Kamala Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust, the event honoured 42 distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to social transformation.

This year’s theme, “Dhruv Tara” (The Pole Star), captured the essence of unwavering guidance, moral clarity, and purposeful direction. True to this spirit, the awardees-drawn from across diverse fields such as education, journalism, social service, sports, entrepreneurship, art, environment, and technology-were recognised for their steadfast commitment to fostering meaningful societal change. The event was graced by several eminent leaders, thinkers, and social workers of the country.

Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, served as the Chief Guest, describing such initiatives as “beacons that inspire collective growth.” Smt. Savitri Thakur, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, lauded the Trust’s dedication to Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and its alignment with the Prime Minister’s transformative vision. Swatantra Dev Singh, Cabinet Minister in the Uttar Pradesh Government, emphasised the role of self-discipline in character-building, which the Trust has long upheld.

HH Swami Chidanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, remarked that a nation must learn not only to take but also to give. Prof. Niranjan Kumar, University of Delhi, highlighted that the National Education Policy 2020 has emphasised the importance of values and character-building, a vision that resonates deeply with the efforts of the Kamala Gowani Trust, which continues to instil these ideals at the grassroots level. Sajjan Yadav, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance, called upon all citizens to contribute meaningfully to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

Addressing the gathering, Trustee Smt. Nidarshana Gowani shared that the awards are not merely recognitions, but a tribute to the ideals, resilience, and spirit of service that uphold the fabric of society. She reaffirmed the Trust’s commitment to nurturing changemakers whose efforts inspire collective progress and strengthen the moral spine of the nation.

Each of the 42 awardees was felicitated for their bold vision, unwavering perseverance, and transformative leadership-qualities that have not only empowered countless lives but have also contributed to shaping India’s evolving global identity. Their journeys serve as powerful reminders that individual action, when rooted in purpose, can ignite waves of lasting change.

The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of a profound truth: that nation-building is not solely the mandate of institutions-it is equally driven by individuals who choose to lead with courage, serve with humility, and innovate with intent. The presence of senior government officials, members of the media, academia, and civil society added gravitas to the occasion, making it a stirring tribute to the enduring spirit of collective progress.
