When Patriotism Meets Palate: Deshbhakt Bhaiya Goes Viral for Rejecting Maggi at Local Thela 🇮🇳

Tom Tom

In a country where food content dominates social media, a recent video featuring a local man and street vendor has gone hilariously viral — not for its recipe, but for the unexpected dose of deshbhakti he received with his Maggi order.

The now-trending reel opens with the local man cheerfully asking for a plate of Maggi at a street-side thela. But instead of a hot bowl of noodles, what he got was a fiery speech on nationalism, colonial hangovers, and the urgent need to "support swadeshi" snacks.

Videshi company ka maal yahan nahi milta. Gulaami mein loot liya, ab saman bech ke loot rahe hain,” the vendor sternly tells the man, before proudly recommending his dish, a lesser-known desi alternative called Tom Tom.

The clip has since racked up lakhs of views, with Instagram users flooding the comments:
“Khaane gaya tha, bhashan le aaya.”
“Bhaiya is the brand ambassador we didn’t know we needed.”
“Tom Tom khaya nahi, desh ki mitti mehsoos ki hai.”

From being a street-side vendor to becoming an overnight internet sensation, “Bhaiya” is now hailed as the unofficial ambassador of the Make in India movement. His passion-fueled rebuttal to foreign products has sparked laughs — and some introspection — across desi meme pages and influencer communities.

While some netizens are demanding Tom Tom recipes, others are asking the local man to “approach with caution” next time. After all, you never know when patriotism will get served piping hot.

Whether you agree with Bhaiya’s anti-noodle agenda or not, one thing’s clear: in India, food will always be political — sometimes, even poetic.
