Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has sought time in response to the summons issued to him by the Mumbai Police in connection with a Rs 252-crore drug case. He has been called in for questioning by the investigating authorities. Orry’s lawyer submitted a letter to the police stating that he is currently unavailable and will be able to appear only after November 25.

The Mumbai Police is reportedly considering his request and has not yet issued a second summons. Dubai-based drug kingpin Salim Suhail Shaikh has allegedly claimed that he organised multiple drug-laced parties attended by the social media influencer. A senior Mumbai Police officer on Wednesday confirmed that Orry has been directed to appear before the ANC’s Ghatkopar Unit at 10 am on Thursday.

Shaikh allegedly told investigators that he hosted drug-fuelled parties in Mumbai, Goa, and Dubai, which—according to his unverified claims—were attended by Bollywood personalities, a film director, the son of a well-known actor, a Page-3 figure, a former Mumbai politician, and even a relative of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Investigators said new leads have surfaced during the probe, and Orry’s statement is required to verify whether he had any direct or indirect links to the narcotics syndicate or to the Dubai-linked gatherings under scrutiny.

“This is a routine step in the investigation,” an ANC officer said, adding that more high-profile individuals may be summoned as the case progresses.

Who is Orry?

Orry has become a pop-culture phenomenon without ever claiming a conventional profession. He is friends with many new-generation Bollywood actors and is known for his social-media presence.

Positioned somewhere between a socialite, influencer, and Gen-Z performance artist, Orry has crafted a persona built entirely on visibility, access, and flamboyant self-presentation. He is the son of Suraj K. Awatramani, a businessman involved in real estate, hospitality, and beverage manufacturing.

His trademark captions, chaotic humour, and deliberately mysterious replies to “What do you do?” have made him a symbol of modern celebrity culture, where fame comes from simply being seen. Orry appears at film promotions, star-studded birthdays, fashion events, and private gatherings with the same energy—posing dramatically, hugging celebrities, and creating viral content effortlessly.

The social media influencer has also appeared on several chat shows and is known for his absurdist statements.
