In the span of a day, the Apoorva-Shveta tale takes a naya twist
Yesterday, Apoorva Lakhia and Shveta Salve both denied that she was at his house. 24 hours on, their stories have changed. Read on to find out why the actress returned the earrings she had stolen...
YESTERDAY SHVETA SAID: "I have no clue about it." and claimed not to have worked or socialised with the Mission Istaanbul director.
TODAY SHE SAYS:u00a0 Apoorva is a friend. I've been to his old house regarding work for a film he made earlier. His cousin is a dear friend of mine. I got a call for a role from Apu's office and visited him. This was quite some time back. As for the incident, my friends believe me. The rest of the people, what do I say to them? And by the way, isn't Apoorva's official quote saying that he knows nothing about all this?"
YESTERDAY APOORVA SAID: I have no clue about the incident. Nothing of this sort happened."
TODAY HE SAYS: "All I'll say is, this is the most bizarre experience of my life."
HOW APU SOLVED THE CRIME
A close friend of Apoorva Lakhia has another story to tell, "He has recently moved in to a new home. He already had a guest over when Shveta called him saying she's in the vicinity and asked if she could drop in for a cup of coffee. He agreed since he knew her well enough."
The friend continues, "Once in his house, she asked to go to the washroom, and was guided to a guest room. Later, when Salve joined her host, she seemed to be in a tearing hurry to leave. She didn't even bother to wait for coffee. Later, Apu came to know that his guest was missing a set of very expensive earrings missing. He realised who had taken them since no one else had come into the guest room."
The director apparently called the actress and asked her about the missing earrings.
Adds the friend,u00a0 "He could tell from her reaction that she was guilty. He calmly told her to return the missing item. When she didn't comply, he put pressure on her through friends posing as media persons on the phone. He finally filed a police complaint and gave her cut-off time on a particular date to return the earrings. Before Apu's deadline expired Shveta turned up with her lawyer to return the missing jewellery."
