Director Rahi Anil Barve, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Mayasabha, has spoken up on the issue of stealing credits in the industry. The director recently spoke with IANS during the promotions of the film, and said that the issue is very much a part of the industry, and he has made his peace with it. He told IANS, “It’s how the world works. This thing is not limited to just the film industry; it happens in many other sectors. I have lived with it and made my peace with it. Nothing that I say can change the world. So, the peace lies in accepting it, and moving on”. Meanwhile, Mayasabha marks his return to the big screen 8 years after his cult-classic Tumbbad, which opened new avenues of horror in India. The film stars Jaaved Jaaferi in an intriguing role. The film centres on Parmeshwar Khanna (played by Jaaved Jaaferi), who is a disgraced, reclusive producer who lives inside a crumbling, abandoned theatre with his mentally unstable son. Local lore claims that 40 kg of 24-carat gold biscuits were hidden within the building decades ago and never recovered. When two outsiders enter the theatre to verify the rumour and hunt for the treasure, they find themselves trapped in a claustrophobic maze of secrets. What follows is a tense cat-and-mouse pursuit, where paranoia and fixation steadily replace reason, and the search for wealth turns into an exploration of obsession and existential despair. Mayasabha features a background score by Sagar Desai, with Kuldeep Mamania handling cinematography and Aasif Pathan overseeing editing. The film is set to release on January 30, 2026. 29 January,2026 10:35 AM IST | Mumbai | IANSActor Paresh Rawal has finally addressed the ongoing chatter surrounding Hera Pheri 3. Interestingly, the actor claimed that the delay in making the film has got nothing to with him despite the withdrawal, lawsuit and more. He revealed that a 'technical issue' between Akshay Kumar and the makers is causing the delay. Paresh Rawal reveals there are issues between Akshay Kumar and the makers In a recent interview with The Lavari Show, Paresh Rawal put all rumours about Hera Pheri being stalled to rest. The National Award-winning actor confirmed that the much-awaited third instalment will “definitely" be made, while clarifying that the delay is not caused by him. Rawal revealed that the delay is due to a “technical issue" between Akshay Kumar and the makers of the film. He dismissed reports about legal trouble affecting the project, saying that claims of Akshay suing him for Rs 25 crore were exaggerated. “All this that had blown up in between that Akshay Kumar has sued me for Rs 25 crores, that is all okay yaa, it’s like kachva chaap agarbatti," he said. The veteran actor also stated that he is ready to sign the film once the matter between the producer and Kumar is resolved. Paresh Rawal on Hera Pheri 3 without Baburao He also spoke about his iconic character Babu Rao, making it clear that Hera Pheri 3 without him would not work. The actor told PinkVilla, “But even at the cost of modesty, I am saying that if they’re going with the idea of doing Hera Pheri without Babu Rao, then it will be a disaster." Rawal concluded by highlighting that the issue does not concern him directly while expressing confidence that the film will surely be made. “If it gets resolved between the two, I will sign the papers. It will happen 100 per cent," he said. The first Hera Pheri is based on the Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking (1989), which was an unexpected hit and went on to become one of India’s most quoted comedies. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), helmed by the late Neeraj Vora, carried forward the misadventures of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty), and the unforgettable Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal).

29 January,2026 07:46 AM IST | Mumbai | Mohar BasuLegions of fans have flocked to the theatres to watch Border 2 since its release. Yet, one person has quietly stayed away from the Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty-starrer — Suniel Shetty. Last week, even as Suniel attended the première of his son’s war drama, he was seen hanging outside the auditorium, while his wife Mana Shetty, daughter Athiya, and son-in-law KL Rahul watched the movie with Ahan. “I sat for three-and-a-half hours outside the theatre, meeting people and soaking in all the compliments,” he smiled, recalling the evening. Some may be baffled by his decision. But others may identify with Suniel, seeing how his deep desire for his son’s success led him to make a vow. “I had said from Day One that I will not watch Border 2 until it crosses a worldwide collection of R500 crore. I had kept a mannat for Ahan. Till now, I haven’t watched a single frame. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not arrogance about the film,” shared the senior actor, who had played Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore in the 1997 original directed by JP Dutta. Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh in the film What happens if director Anurag Singh’s latest instalment — which depicts a chapter of the 1971 India-Pakistan war — falls short of the figure? Suniel is hopeful that a father’s prayers will not go unanswered. “I am hoping it will cross Rs 500 crore. Mana loved Border 2. Everybody who has watched the film has appreciated Ahan’s work. I am happy that after Dhurandhar [2025], another Hindi movie has worked brilliantly.” Hopefully it will be a matter of time before the proud father can watch the movie on the big screen. He has already made plans for the big day. “I will watch it with Ahan, his friends, and my family. I will also take Sunny paaji, Varun, and all of them with me. It will probably be the second time for them, but it will be my first. I don’t know how many times I will watch it after that. I have always been proud of Ahan and his decisions. He strongly believed that Border 2 was the film he wanted to do.”

Breaks my heart to see under age boys go through with something so heinous. Imagine the environments they are growing up in. We are punishing the voiceless in our country, and have sensationalised dogs being a threat! Wake up India.” For those unversed, a six-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three boys, aged 10, 13, and 14, in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura on January 18. 28 January,2026 08:22 PM IST | Mumbai | mid-day online correspondentAditi Rao Hydari has never been that girl. She has built a career doing the opposite. Long before “pan-India”, “content cinema” or “strong female roles” became the industry's most popular buzzwords, Aditi was already pushing the narrative towards films where craft mattered more than noise. Aditi Rao ditches dialogue in Gandhi Talks Gandhi Talks, a silent film in 2026, isn’t a sudden act of bravery on her part but the most natural extension of a pattern she’s followed. This is an actor who has moved between the worlds of Mani Ratnam and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, among others and worked with filmmakers who demand diametrically different kinds of process and performances from her. Aditi has survived, thrived and stood out in all her work. While many of her contemporaries carefully orbit commercial formulas, Aditi repeatedly steps into films where merit, credibility, craft and longevity take priority. Period dramas, intimate romances, socially relevant dramas, thrillers - her filmography has something for everyone. Her newest offering, Gandhi Talks, takes that instinct and chases glory with it. By design, a silent film leaves an actor nowhere to hide. No punchy lines to manufacture impact. You are left with the face, the eyes, breath, stillness - tools Aditi has always thrived on, and been celebrated for. The film's newly dropped trailer makes the vision of every artist on it clear. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the deft Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi soars to match him. Their chemistry feels palpable. What makes this powerful isn’t merely that it is “different.” It’s that it’s consistent with who she has always been as an artist, someone more interested in experience than in the safety of a formula. In an era dominated by spectacle and scale, Aditi choosing a form that relies purely on presence feels almost subversive. With A.R. Rahman’s music becoming the film’s emotional voice and Kishor Pandurang Belekar directing, Gandhi Talks may be an experiment. But for Aditi Rao Hydari, it feels like a homecoming to the kind of fearless performance space she’s been working towards all along! The film will release worldwide on January 30, 2026. Aditi and the cast speak about Gandhi Talks The film is headlined by Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Siddharth Jadhav. Sharing his experience, Vijay Sethupathi says, “Gandhi Talks challenged me to express emotion without words. It’s a rare film where silence becomes the strongest dialogue.” Echoing this sentiment, Arvind Swami adds, “In a world drowning in noise, Gandhi Talks reminds us that silence can still shake a conscience. This is a film where words step aside and truth walks in quietly. Rahman’s genius music becomes its language.” Aditi Rao Hydari reflects on the film’s emotional core, saying, “What moved me most was how emotions are felt rather than spoken. The film allows vulnerability and silence to coexist beautifully.”

I’ve sung three songs for the film and also co-composed the one releasing tomorrow, which makes it even more special. Each of the songs are very different in terms of their vibe, and together they show a side of my journey that people haven’t seen yet. I’m really excited for audiences to hear the first song tomorrow.” About Tu Yaa Main trailer The edge-of-the-seat trailer pulls audiences into the world of two content creators until their lives take a terrifying turn when they come face-to-face with a menacing crocodile.
