Anurag Basu

Anurag was keen on Silence for the title, as he is superstitious about English titles. All his successful films (Murder, Gangster, Life In A... Metro) have English titles, while films like Kucch To Hai, Saaya and Tumsa Nahin Dekha were failures.

So after Kites this summer, Basu hopes to score another angrezi-titled hit with Silence.

RK plays the deaf-mute protagonist while PC plays a mentally challenged girl. After she finishes shooting Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf, the actress intends to undertake research for her role.

The challenge for Priyanka is to match Ranbir's portrayal of physical disability with her own interpretation of emotional disability.

The team was keeping mum over the title until its rights could be bought off from the people who owned the title.
