Balan has a ball

Dressed in a bright orange sari with pink flowers, Vidya Balan looks every bit of Krishna, her character in Ishqiya. The lady is on a new high garnering rave reviews from the classes and masses. CS catches up with her at a recent BookMyShow.com event where she was busy interacting with her fans:

In Ishq with Ishqiya
This film has been the most exciting, challenging and the most fulfilling experience of my career. The role of Krishna is in total contrast to what I have done before. I can describe my experience only in superlatives. And working on the film was a lot of fun. I can recount all the 60 days of shooting.
I consider myself very lucky to have got the chance to work with Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in the film. They are both powerhouse performers. I could manage to deliver a convincing performance only because of their motivation and support. And, there's so much one can learn from them.

Woman on top
I feel lucky that I am able to lead my life on my own terms. It's a great blessing. Right now, I have complete control over my life and I am thankful to God for his support and grace.
As far as the awards go, I feel truly overwhelmed and humble to receive appreciation for my work. It is a very gratifying feeling. But I have been too busy with my promotions to sit back and enjoy the feeling. The awards prove that my work's been accepted, and I hope to put in better performances in future films.u00a0

Wooing Vidya
Hahau2026.I like men who are self assured. The man should be comfortable in his own skin and without any pretence. And I would like someone who is able to appreciate me in totality.

Right timing
Indian cinema has entered into a new phase. I feel lucky to be a part of this age. Today we have diverse subjects and different treatments to existing subjects. As far as the portrayal of women is concerned, we are behind Hollywood. But we are slowly but surely offering better scope to female actors.
