Big B prepares to meet fans overseas
Brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan declared that the 10th year anniversary of the awards show will take place at the Venetian Macao Resort-Hotel in Macau. Here is a quick tete-a-tete with Big B on awards and more...
On the Hindi film influence on the world map: This International awards event brings Indian movies closer to whichever part we go. We generate curiosity among the residents of the countryu00a0 through our glam shows over a period of three days.
People from the country see how the event happened, pick and chose their favourites from our industry and then follow them. The same kind of thing Hollywood did, they kept rubbing it in and now all their actors and actress have become household names all over the globe.
On foreign fans: You will be surprised that whenever I am abroad I see people who are not of Indian descent coming up to me but not just saying a hello and leaving. They generally touch my feet, or say namaste. Some women even come dressed like Indian women in traditional Indian clothing with a bindi on.
On films: Earlier individual producers used to make films but now the kind of budgets consideredare so astronomical that I am certain it is no longer a one man game. Joint production I think is the way forward for this industry. Many people with different sources of monies coming together to make one film, one dream is the new way forward. Today the budgets of films are growing by the day but the recovery of films are still very standard. Hence these awards brings another angle by opening markets for films in territories where our films would not generally release.
On voting: I am not in politics but I do vote. I don't have an agenda as such. I go and cast my vote like every Indian does and should do.
