The curtain raiser for the forthcoming 16th Mumbai film festival (MAMI) saw support from celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Kiran Rao and Vikramaditya Motwane among others. They all appealed to movie goers for help in reviving the festival.

Though an amount of Rs 2.75 crore has been raised through crowd funding, an additional amount of ' 2.5 crore is still needed for the smooth functioning of the popular event.
