Flat - Movie review

Flat
U/A; Horror
Dir: Hemant Madhukar
Cast: Jimmy Shergill, Kaveri Jha, Sachin Khedekar , Sanjay Suri
Rating: 1/2

What's it about: Truly a horror to watch. Dare if you would. Rahul (Jimmy) is spooked when he visits a flat after his return from the US to find strange things happening. Apart from the death of his father (Khedekar) he also realises his girlfriend Preeti (Jha) is missing. However, he isn't aloneu00a0-- there's a ghost with very bad make-up in the flat who gives him company. The film revolves around the mystery of the bhoot and why she's trapped in the ill-fated flat.

What's hot: Nothing.

What's not: There are the usual camera angles, creaking doors, background music jolts. Plot is so hackeneyed and predictable that even the weak attempts to raise a scare go unnoticed. In the day and age of Hollywood thrillers such as Paranormal Activity and the Saw series, we need more than blood and gore to be scared. Performances are below average as everyone sleepwalks through their roles. Even the likeable Sanjay Suri is made to ham and say some really bad dialogues.

What to do: Staying true to its title, Flat is truly a flat attempt at raising a good scare.
