An elderly woman at Bengaluru Airport was drawn to Bipasha Basu, enough to try and plant a wet one on her

Bipasha Basu's magnetic charm doesn't just work on men, as it turns out. A recent incident proves that women are as susceptible to the Bips Effect.



The victim of bizarre touching and clawing (by men) last week, the actress was accosted by a middle-aged woman who tried to kiss her on the lips at Bengaluru airport.

Says a source close to the actress, "Bips was on her way back to Mumbai. She was checking in while her spot boys were already inside with her boarding pass. Out of the blue, a 70-year old woman started insisting that Bips pose for a picture with her family."

The tiny old lady didn't let go and clung on to Bipasha's neck. The source adds, "She heard her spot boys screaming and gesturing threateningly towards her. She thought they were shouting at the woman for dragging her by the neck."

Before she knew it, their lips came close to meeting. "It was obvious this lady wanted to kiss Bipasha. For a moment, she didn't know how to react! Those lips kept coming closer and closer.... In the nick of time, Bips shoved the elderly woman aside and made it to the check-in zone."

The actress was in for a bigger surprise when her spot boys told her that a man was trying to take advantage of the commotion and get close to her (of her entourage, only her hairdresser was with Bips). The boys were threatening to beat up the potential molester, not the old lady."

Everyone wants a piece of Bips. A young lady bit her finger at an awards event in Sri Lanka earlier this year. "She has a strong female fan following and apart from men, many young girls are very demonstrative in their affections towards her. She's used to such situations and handles them with sensitivity."

Bipasha says, "I find the affection very heart-warming. Of course, this is the first time that a lady actually tried to kiss me!"

Bipasha wrote on a microblogging site: "Funniest thing happened at BLR airport entrance! One aunty pulled me dwn (down) almost pinned me to smooch me! Somehow I was saved! Near escape! In Sri Lanka for IIFA (International Indian Film Academy awards) I was saying hello to people outside the hotel, one girl pulled my hand and bit my finger hard! But today's aunty shocked me more!"
